Your tree may be a small plant right now, but with a bit of care it will be well on its way to being a small tree, bringing life and color to any space. Areca Palms, also known as Butterfly or Golden Cane Palms, is one the most most popular palms to grow indoors. When growing a palm indoors you need to ensure you provide it with lots of bright, but indirect lighting. Direct sunlight will turn the leaves yellow. Areca palms are generally easy to care for as long as you keep it in a bright location and have a regular watering schedule. Keep their soil moist in the hotter months, and allow it to dry slightly in the colder ones. But be careful not to over water! Areca Palms are one of the best air purifying plants for your home and can grow up to 10 inches per year before stopping at 6 or 7 feet indoors. In the wild, Areca Palms can reach up to 40ft!
