Clump forming perennials also known as ‘balloon’ flowers due to their unique balloon-shaped buds. The deep-blue starry blooms are striking in mixed borders, large containers and as cut flowers.

Approx. 500 Seeds
Sow indoors, January to April, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20ºC. Seedlings appear 14-21 days. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough to handle transplant 5cm apart in trays of compost. Grow on at approx. 15ºC. Gradually acclimatise to outside conditions (avoid frosts). Transplant 25cm apart in flowering position from summer onwards.
Sow outdoors, May to June, In a prepared seed bed. Sow thinly in rows 25cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. When large enough thin to 10cm apart. Transplant 25cm apart in flowering position from September to October.
Flowers: June to August, the following year.
