Sow Laurentian rutabaga seeds in your organic vegetable garden. Bright purple skins cover the top two thirds of this globe-shaped rutabaga. The 10-15cm (4-6") roots keep very well in winter storage, and add rich flavour to soups and stews, as well as vitamin C and carotenoids, which encourage normal cell growth. For a lowly rutabaga, Laurentian looks great on market tables. Laurentian rutabaga seeds have been grown in the Pacific Northwest for decades, and have proven themselves to be ideal for both farms and home gardeners. Rutabagas are a wonderful old-world winter standby.
