Gardener's Notes: Start seed indoors in pots 4-6 weeks before transplanting outdoors after the last spring frost or sow directly in the garden when night temperatures stay above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Protect young plants from cats. Grows in average soil. Often self-seeds for additional plants. Harvest leaves as needed. Pick remaining leaves and flower before frost and dry indoors. Keep in a jar or plastic bags.
