Gardener's Notes: Sweet peas love cool weather and need to grown before summer's heat. Plant in rich soil in early spring. To speed germination, soak seeds in warm water for 12-24 hours. Seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before planting outside, or sow outdoors as soon as oil can be worked. In warm climates, plant in fall or late winter and early spring bloom. Provide trellis or support vines to climb.
