Anemone “Bordeaux Tops” features velvety, dark plum, cup-shaped flowers adorned with a vibrant purple eye and a powdery dome of black stamens at their centre. It can reach a height of 18” with broad blooms 5” wide that are a favourite of butterflies and other beneficial pollinators! Loves full sun, but appreciates some shade in warmer climates. Plant in moist soil during the fall months (Sept-Dec) in preparation for a spring bloom (Mar-May). Ensure planting is done before the first frost, as “Bordeaux Tops” is frost-sensitive. Protect or relocated seedlings during the cold winter months. Ideal for growing in hardiness zone 5, but can also be grown in zones 6 through 8. Anemones are poisonous to pets and humans if ingested in large quantities. A great garden addition that looks fantastic when used as a cut flower!
