A native of the Mediterranean, “Neapolitanum” is one of the shorter allium varieties, growing to a height of approximately 12”. “Neapolitanum’s” heads are more loosely arranged than other alliums, with open clusters of small white flowers creating a soft, lacy effect. Its pure white blossoms will nicely complement any colourful floral display! A hardy and low-maintenance variety that resists deer and disease, “Neapolitanum” can be grown in zones 3 through 9. Prefers areas of full or partial sun. Plant the bulbs in the fall months (Sept-Dec) in anticipation of a mid-spring (April - May) bloom. The bulbs should be planted at a depth of 3” while leaving 3” of space between each bulb. Note that alliums are poisonous if ingested by most pets. This easy-to-grow allium also lasts for quite a long time as a cut flower.
