Echinacea purpurea Ruby Star
A jewel-toned delight, Echinacea purpurea ‘Ruby Star’ (also known as ‘Rubinstern’) presents large, flat‑faced blooms in deep carmine‑red to purple‑pink hues, held horizontally atop strong stems. Reaching about 90–105 cm (36–42″) tall with a spread of 45–60 cm (18–24″), it holds up well in full sun with average to dry soil conditions. Blooming prolifically from midsummer through early fall, its sturdy blooms are excellent for fresh-cut arrangements and dried displays. Naturally drought- and deer-tolerant, it’s a magnet for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and seed-eating birds—and makes a dramatic statement in borders or pollinator gardens.
