DE CAEN - BLUE POPPY

Anemone De Caen's “Blue Poppy” features satiny, violet-blue, poppy-like flowers adorned with a dark button centre. Its blossoms rise 10” above green, fern-like foliage and will attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators! Looks great as a dramatic contrast to lighter blossoms in cut flower arrangements. In moist, well-draining soil plant the bulbs during Autumn (Sept-Dec) for a Spring bloom (Mar-May). Plant the bulbs at a depth of about 2” leaving approximately 4” of space between each individual bulb. “Blue Poppy” is frost sensitive, so protect or transplant your seedlings during the cold winter months. This deer-resistant perennial can be grown in hardiness zones 5 through 10. Note that anemones are poisonous to pets and humans if ingested in large quantities. A ridiculously easy-to-grow variety that will add the perfect splash of blue to any flower garden or border!
