Gardener's Notes: Plant in late spring, only after soil is warm and night temperatures are above 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius). Corn needs full sun and very fertile soil. For good pollinations, plant in blocks of at least four shorter rows rather than fewer long rows. Thin seedlings to stand one foot apart. Sow more seed 2 weeks later for successive harvests. Water regularly and fertilize monthly. Harvest well-filled out ears when silks turn brown and feel dry.
