A real space-saver in the garden and refrigerator. Compact vines bear extra sweet, 6-8" melons, up to 10 lbs. Dark green outside, red and juicy inside.
Gardener's Notes:
Melons need warm weather to grow. Sow in late spring after night temperatures reach 13'C. Seed may be started indoors 3 weeks before transplanting into the garden when seedlings have 4 leaves. When sowing outdoors, plant 4-6 seeds 1/2" deep in a 12" hill. Thin seedlings to strongest 3 plants. Fertilize monthly. Pick melons when nearest tendril is brown, rind is dull and underside turns yellow.
