At maturity, it reaches 3–4 ft (≈ 90–120 cm) tall, with slender stems adorned by whorled green foliage and topped by clusters of dark maroon-red, recurved petals speckled with golden-orange centersBlooming in early to mid-summer (June–September), each stalk can bear 20–50 fragrant flowers, making it a butterfly magnet and excellent for cut flower use.
