Penstemon Rocky Mountain - Ontario Seed Company

Penstemon strictus

A 2ft. tall perennial with dark to brilliant blue-purple multiple flower spikes. Drought tolerant, but likes regular watering.

When and Where to Plant

Full sun. Sow in fall or cold-stratify seed 4 weeks before planting in spring. Cover seed lightly with soil, needs light to germinate. Native to the four corners region, mountains and mesas.

Care

Protect with 1-6"/10-15cm of mulch in severe winter areas. Feed every spring.

Seed Storage

Store seed in a cool. dry place. Heat and moisture severely reduce germination.
