Dryopteris marginalis - Shield Fern
A classic evergreen wood fern, Dryopteris marginalis features leathery, blue-green fronds that form elegant vase-shaped clumps and remain attractive year-round. Growing 18–24 in (45–60 cm) tall and wide, it thrives in shaded woodlands, rocky slopes, or along shady borders. Exceptionally drought-tolerant for a fern, it flourishes in moist, humus-rich, well-drained to average soils and will even tolerate drier sites once established.
