CERTIFIED ORGANIC! In the first growing season, these tall, hardy plants produce seven to eight highly uniform, nearly spineless buds. The buds are sweet and tender. Imperial Star Organic artichoke seeds are a great choice for the home gardener or for open field production. The plants grow 90-120cm (36-48") tall. This variety is sometimes listed under the name Tavor. It's a bit easier to get first-season harvests from Imperial Star than some of the other artichoke varieties, but it is also perennial, so it will produce for several years to come. The buds are a terrific mid-summer treat.
