Dryopteris - Erythrosora

An elegant, semi-evergreen Autumn Fern, Dryopteris erythrosora is prized for its vivid seasonal foliage and refined form. New fronds unfurl in bronze to copper tones, transitioning to glossy green as they mature and often reverting to warm shades again in fall. It forms graceful, arching vase-shaped clumps reaching about 18–24 in (45–60 cm) tall and wide. Thriving in part to full shade with organically rich, moist but well-drained soil, it tolerates drier spots when established and requires minimal maintenance. Resistant to deer and rabbits, and adaptable to containers, woodland gardens, and shaded borders, it also spreads slowly by rhizomes to create depth and interest over time.
