A refined, semi-evergreen daylily, ‘Gentle Shepherd’ displays large, gently ruffled ivory-white blossoms approximately 5″ wide, each accented by a bright yellow‑green throat in early to mid-summer. Sporting tidy clumps of arching green foliage around 26–30″ tall and 18–24″ wide, it brings a serene, elegant charm to garden borders and containers. An award-winning diploid (AHS Award of Merit, 1987), this cultivar is praised as one of the finest white daylilies, thriving in average, moist but well-drained soils, full sun to part shade, and tolerant of heat, humidity, drought, clay soils, and rabbit browsing.
