Review Title: Striking Anemone type Dahlia-disappointed in colou

Customer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars (Very Good)

    Customer Feedback:

Really pleased that this Dalia is such an early bloomer in the first week of July (after only a month in the ground) in my zone 4b garden!… really disappointed that it is red and yellow – my least favourite flower colour combination- in my tiny garden designed in cool pinks, pastels and blues… not the first time a Florissa tuber isn’t true to the packaging, if red and yellow is a variation of this particular Dahlia then show it on the card!!! hopefully it is just the first stem and it will have some pink/peach blooms as advertised… the size is great for the front of the garden. The dark foliage and purple stems are a nice contrast, but also delicious to earwigs/J. Beetles, moreso than my green leaf varieties which are untouched…. So the foliage is already looking a little rough and it’s only just started. !\nIt’s not floppy and has a great rigid stem, so looks like it will do well for cutting…. Which is where it’s going to end up if it doesn’t get its act together and start growing pink. !\nIt’s not the first time a florissa Dahlia is not the expected colour in my garden, especially the ombre varieties with coloured tips that only end up white — if there is an amendment that would help keep colour true to form, I’m willing to do it! I have high quality Sandy soil amended with good compost and thick wood chip mulch to keep soil cool during summer prime time…. Too much nitrogenFrom slowly composting wood chips. ? I would think if that were the case I would have an abundance of leafy greens and be low on buds and blooms, which I definitely am not…. Otherwise a very nice variety with a 2 1/2 -3 inch flowerhead so far…. Too bad about the color.
