Capsicum annuum
This ancient heirloom originates in Oaxaca, Mexico. It is a chili type with a dark brown tapered shape, productive in later seasons, and maturing in 90 days. It starts out green. It is traditionally used to prepare the famous Mole Negro sauce. It is excellent dried or in salsa. It has a rich, fruity, and smoky taste. The heat range is 1250- 5000 Scoville units. It grows well in large pots and loves the greenhouse.
