Hosta montana - Aureomarginata
A stunning classic, Hosta ‘Montana Aureomarginata’ sports large, ovate, dark green leaves edged with wide, golden-yellow margins that fade to creamy-white as the season progresses. Emerging early in spring, this vigorous hosta forms a vase-shaped mound reaching about 27″ (70 cm) tall with a 48″ (120 cm) spread. In midsummer, tall scapes (up to 40″/100 cm) bear pale lavender bell-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds and add elegant vertical interest. Hardy in USDA zones 3–9, it thrives in bright to part shade, appreciates evenly moist, well-drained soil, and is resistant to pollution and verticillium wilt.
