Hosta – Captain Kirk

A vibrant and robust shade perennial, Hosta ‘Captain Kirk’ is a sport of ‘Gold Standard’ featuring bold chartreuse-gold leaf centers edged with wide, dark green margins. It forms a large, heavily textured mound about 20–24″ (50–60 cm) tall and 36–44″ (90–110 cm) wide, perfect as a specimen or mass planting in shady gardensIn midsummer, 30″ (75 cm) scapes carry pale lavender bell flowers that attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Known for its thick, resilient foliage, ‘Captain Kirk’ tolerates morning sun better than most hostas and is slug-resistant, making it a low-maintenance choice for varied garden settings. This hosta has earned acclaim including the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit and American Hosta Society honors.
