Ajuga reptans - Burgundy Glow

Ajuga reptans ‘Burgundy Glow’ is a captivating evergreen groundcover prized for its tricolored scalloped leaves—emerging burgundy in spring, fading to green with creamy-white variegation and smoky pink accents—topped with delicate spikelets of sky‑blue flowers in mid‑to‑late spring. It forms an attractive low mat about 4–6 in (10–15 cm) tall and spreads to 12–18 in (30–45 cm), making it ideal for edging, containers, rock gardens, or under trees. Hardy from zones 3–10, ‘Burgundy Glow’ thrives in part to full shade with average moisture, and it’s both deer‑ and rabbit‑resistant. It naturalizes slowly but beautifully, suppressing weeds, attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, and delivering year‑round color—even in winter.
