Hosta – Bullet Proof

A standout for shade gardens, Hosta ‘Bulletproof’ forms a medium-sized mound of thick, spear-shaped, frosted blue-green leaves that retain their vibrant color throughout the season. In mid-summer, erect scapes around 24″ (60 cm) bear racemes of pale lavender bell flowers that attract hummingbird. This tetraploid sport of ‘Halcyon’ is exceptionally slug- and snail-resistant—their tough foliage proving nearly “bulletproof”—and thrives in Zones 3–9 in part to full shade with moist, fertile, well-drained soil.
