Dicentra formosa - King of Hearts

A compact and elegant perennial, ‘King of Hearts’ is prized for its vivid carmine-rose, heart-shaped blooms and fine, blue-green fern-like foliage. Blooming from late spring into early fall in cooler climates, it forms a tidy mound around 8–10″ tall and up to 14″ wide, making it perfect for shaded borders, woodland edges, or containers. Unlike many bleeding hearts, this variety is heat-tolerant (if kept moist) and rarely goes dormant in summer. It’s both deer- and rabbit-resistant while drawing in pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies.

  • 1 growing root per pack, 2-3 eyes
  • Carmine-rose heart-shaped blooms
  • Long bloom season
  • Deer & rabbit resistant
  • Compact, ferny foliage
