Miscanthus sinensis – Serengeti

This striking cultivar forms an elegant arching clump of rich green blades highlighted with silvery-white midribs, providing movement and visual contrast. In late summer through autumn, it produces abundant deep red to copper flower panicles that age to creamy-white seed plumes, extending seasonal appeal. Mature plants typically reach about 1.0–1.6 m (3–5 ft) tall and 0.9–1.2 m (3–4 ft) wide, forming a sturdy yet graceful presence in the gardenReliable and low-maintenance, ‘Serengeti’ is hardy in USDA Zones 5–9, thrives in full sun to light shade, and is both deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established. This compact yet dramatic grass makes a superb specimen, edge accent, or bold container focal point.
