Chives form clumps of hollow grass-like leaves with a mild onion flavor. Left to mature, before seeding it develops attractive lavender-pink flowers. Some delicious options include soups, salads, cheese, and egg dishes. This versatile herb can be dried or frozen.

Sow seed directly into the garden or start seed indoors 6 weeks before the last frost. Harvest often by cutting 5 cm (2") from the ground.
