Sweet Pea Cuthbertson Mix is a popular climbing plant for growing on trellises, fences, screens and light posts. Very fragrant flowers on a vine type plant make this Sweet Pea an excellent choice for hanging baskets. Lathyrus Odoratus seeds produce a sun loving plant that likes to grow in full sun and prefers fertile, well drained soil. Sweet Pea Cuthbertson Mix is one of the best flowers for fragrance and an excellent cut flower.

Approx. 35 seeds

Sow 13mm (1/2") deep, 5cm (2") apart, in rich, well drained soil in early spring, as soon as the ground can be worked. For earlier blooms, start indoors 6-8 weeks before final frost and transplant up to 2 weeks before final frost. Shoots are hardy and can take light frosts. Germination takes 10-21 days. Train young plants up a fence or wall, or support with sticks or netting. Pick regularly to prolong flowering period.

Aid germination by slitting the seed coat slightly, then soak for 24 hours before sowing.
