Kniphofia hirsuta - Fire Dance

A delightful dwarf red hot poker, ‘Fire Dance’ offers a striking display of coral-red and yellow tubular blooms held atop upright spikes that persist from early through late summer. This compact South African native forms tidy clumps of fine blue‑green arching foliage, with flowering stems reaching about 45–50 cm (18″ tall) and a mature spread of 38–46 cm (15–18″). Exceptionally hardy (Zones 4–9, often reliably down to Zone 5 or 5b with mulch), it thrives in full sun and well‑drained soil, tolerates drought once established, and is naturally deer‑ and rabbit‑resistant while attracting hummingbirds and butterflies.
