This vibrant heirloom variety—also known as Crimson Red or Crimson Wine—offers exceptionally bold colour and flavour for the home garden. Packaging

Fruits and vegetable plant orders will be shipped with wood shavings in the package to help insulate and protect the plants from the cold weather and movement during shipping. Wood shavings can be repurposed in the garden or composted upon receiving your order!

    The root had a small leaflet to start but then died. We had huge amounts of rain here in the spring which may have rotted it. The dry root was a ‘v’ shape & was cut on both sides. It may have had too much cut surface to start off well. Disappointing only because I was looking forward to seeing it grow & taste it.

    I received my rhubarb in March, and found the rhizomes a lot smaller than I was expecting. I planted them in an area amended with compost. A week ago I noticed they were doing very poorly so I dug them up only to find them riddled with wireworm. I tried to pick all of them out, and immersed in water to try to flush out the remaining ones and potted up in new soil. I hope some of them make a recover but I think since the rhizomes were so so small they will not be able to bounce back :(
