Allium โRed Giantโ is an unusual but spectacular variety of allium with a single huge scarlet-purple flower head rising above multiple large green leaves. Sure to be a talking point during any garden tour or event! Its fragrant bloom grows to a height of 10โ above the ground and is sure to attract many butterflies, bees, and other beneficial pollinators. Prefers moderate to dry soil and can be planted in USDA hardiness zones 4 through 9. Plant during the fall months (Sept-Dec) for the late spring (May - June) appearance of โRed Giantโsโ stunning blossoms. Plant the bulbs at a depth of 6โ, leaving approximately 12โ between each individual bulb. Note that alliums are poisonous if ingested by pets. Deer-resistant and easy to grow, Allium โRed Giantโ looks great in a container or as a feature in garden borders.
