Zea mays
A vigorous and reliable sweet corn, Bodacious Hybrid is a Sugary Enhanced (SE) variety that shows excellent tolerance to common rust and Stewarts Wilt. Its robust nature helps it fight through periods of stress, ensuring a dependable crop. This hybrid produces large 20 cm ears with 16 rows of exceptionally tender, golden kernels, promising a delicious and rewarding harvest.
What you need to know to Plant & Grow
For a successful crop, plant sweet corn only when the soil has warmed to 18°C.
Planting: To ensure proper pollination, plant at least 3 to 4 rows. When planting in rows, space seeds 10-15 cm apart, later thinning to 20-30 cm apart. Rows should be spaced 55-75 cm apart. Alternatively, corn can be planted with 3 to 4 seeds per hill, with hills spaced 30 cm apart. Germination occurs in approximately 10 days.
Care: Work a good general vegetable fertilizer into the soil at planting, keep weeds under control, and ensure the soil is evenly watered throughout the season. Irrigation is essential.
