Ornamental Garlic – Allium Millenium
Allium ‘Millenium’ is an award-winning, compact ornamental onion celebrated as the 2018 Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association. It forms tidy clumps of glossy, grass-like green foliage topped in mid-to-late summer with striking 2" (5 cm) rounded rosy-purple flower globes held on sturdy stems just above the leaves. Blooming for several weeks, these nectar-rich umbels draw bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it an ideal border, container, or cut-and-dried flower choice . This beautiful, low-maintenance perennial remains pest and disease free, deer- and rabbit-resistant, drought-tolerant, and adaptable to a variety of soil types in USDA zones 4–9
