Anemone – canadensis
Anemone canadensis, commonly known as Canada Anemone or Meadow Anemone, is a graceful native perennial that lights up late spring and early summer with upward-facing pure white, cup-shaped flowers framed by deeply divided, lacy foliage. The blooms—each composed of five petal-like sepals and a bright yellow center of stamens—rise above clumps of finely lobed, geranium-like leaves. A vigorous spreader via underground rhizomes, it’s ideal for massing or naturalizing moist spots where it can form a luminous carpet of white blossoms. In ideal growing conditions it can transform wet garden edges, meadow gardens, or shaded borders with seasonal brilliance and structural texture.
