Sow outdoors in early May in a sunny site or start them indoors in April for transplanting out after the danger of frost has passed. Sow seeds 3mm (1/8in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart in rows spaced 45cm (18in) apart. Quick growth and a cool season make for the most succulent tasting greens. Make new plantings every 2 weeks as long as weather is cool.
