Astrantia major – Star of Billion

A floriferous and vigorous masterwort featuring dome-shaped clusters of white flowers tinged with pale green bracts, creating an intricate pincushion effect that glistens in garden beds. Blooming profusely from late spring through early summer—and often reblooming into late summer when deadheaded—it provides long-lasting visual interest. Forms a tidy clump of lush, deeply divided mid-green leaves approximately 50–65 cm tall and 45–60 cm wide, making it perfect for woodland borders, cottage gardens, or rain-fed beds. Thrives in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil with partial to full shade or cool sun, is deer-resistant, low-maintenance, and earns high marks as a cut or dried-flower favorite.
