RUBUS BLACK

Celebrate bold flavour and deep colour with this classic summer‑bearing black raspberry. These canes produce glossy, dark‑purple to nearly black berries on their second‑year (floricane) growth during early to mid‑summer. Black raspberries are prized for their rich, aromatic sweetness, higher anthocyanin content and unique flavour profile. With full sun, fertile, well‑drained soil and appropriate support, they’re a standout for a Canadian garden aimed at fresh eating, freezing or preserves.

At Wildwood, we aim to make sure every plant arrives healthy and safe to your door in time for your planting period. Here is what you can expect after placing your order!

Packaging

Fruits and vegetable plant orders will be shipped with wood shavings in the package to help insulate and protect the plants from the cold weather and movement during shipping. Wood shavings can be repurposed in the garden or composted upon receiving your order!

The shipment of your order will follow our approximate schedule found below where timing will be dependent on what is being shipped, your planting zone, and the current weather conditions for shipping.

4-5 Late April
6 Early to Mid April
7-9 Mid March to Early April

All times listed are the earliest dates shipping can start in that zone. Shipping times can change due to harsh weather conditions or supplier delays if they occur.

"The bush died and I got nothing out of it!😢"

Great selection and shipping is

"Great selection and shipping is decent, unfortunately 3 out of 6 black raspberry plants did not live. Although only 3 plants lived, I would still purchase from this company again."

Tiffany C. (4/5)

Black Raspberry

"Not sure if my plants are thriving. All 4 plants have no leaves and no flowers. So this year for sure I won’t see any berries."

Dorothea T. (3/5)

Died after shipping

"I’m a very experienced gardener. This poor cane took 10 days shipping to get to me based on postmarks. It had sprouted a spindly weak growth in the dark of its shipping box. Sadly the stress of the journey killed it 2 days later. Really too bad."

Kim B. (1/5)

Neither of my raspberry plants

"Neither of my raspberry plants produced growth. The Dahlia grew well."

Terri B. (1/5)

All are growing

"These plants arrived in terrific condition. They are healthy and strong plants. With so much rain this year I thought they may suffer but no, they are thriving nicely. Thank you fo Kathy"
