Liatris spicata - Kobold

A compact and eye-catching variety, Liatris spicata ‘Kobold’ features upright spikes of fluffy, rosy‑lavender flower heads opening from top to bottom—a striking form that adds vertical drama to borders and cutting gardens. This dwarf cultivar reaches only about 18–30 in (45–75 cm) tall and spreads approximately 12–16 in (30–40 cm) wide, forming neat clumps ideal for front-of-border planting. Blooming from early to midsummer, ‘Kobold’ is valued for its reliability in full sun and tolerates heat, drought, clay, and poor soils with ease. Exceptionally low-care and attractive to butterflies, bees, hummingbirds—and birds later in the season from seed heads—this compact beauty is also deer-resistant and perfect for fresh or dried bouquets.
