Epimedium grandiflorum - Lilafee

A graceful shade-lover, Epimedium grandiflorum ‘Lilafee’ (also sold as ‘Lilac Fairy’) features delicate racemes of long-spurred lavender-purple blooms in mid to late spring, elegantly held above a lush mound of spiny-toothed foliage. New leaves emerge tinted bronze-purple, mature to green, then return to a reddish hue in autumn, providing multi-seasonal interest. This compact perennial reaches 20–30 cm (8–12″) tall with a spread of 30–40 cm (12–16″) and thrives in part to full shade with average to dry, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Deer- and rabbit-resistant with low maintenance needs, ‘Lilafee’ is ideal as a woodland groundcover, underplanting, or along shade borders.
