SINGLE LATE - MYSTIC VAN EIJK

  • Great for cut flowers
  • Zone 3
  • Plant Sept-Dec
  • Blooms Jan-Mar

Also known as ‘Single Late Tulips’ the Mystic Van Eijk are cup or ‘goblet’ shaped tulips that can be found in almost any colour! This tulip variety is one of the tallest of its kind with blooms that appear in January-March. Plant bulbs 6 inches deep and 4 inches apart in September or October, ensuring that soil has good drainage. Add a balanced bulb fertilizer to soil for the best chance of blooms returning the following year. These flowers can reach 20 inches tall at maturity and they make a romantic addition to any garden or cut-flower arrangement. Tulips like full-to-part sun and they aren’t fans of excessive heat. Zone 3 is the optimal choice, but spots with shade or less sun will work for warmer areas like zones 7 or 8. Note that tulips are not deer-resistant, and pets should be kept away due to toxicity.
