Gentiana - True Blue

A standout for midsummer to early fall, Gentiana ‘True Blue’ features an array of pure, tubular royal-blue flowers measuring about 5 cm (2 in) long that bloom from the stems’ base to tip. Standing tall at 60–75 cm (24–30 in) with a tidy spread of 30–45 cm (12–18 in), its glossy green lance-like foliage provides a sculptural backdrop. Hardy in zones 4–8, this deer‑resistant, well-branched perennial thrives in moist, well‑drained soils with full sun to part shade. It draws butterflies—and occasionally hummingbirds—while adding distinctive vertical color to mixed borders, rock gardens, or containers.
