Geranium macrorrhizum - Ingwersen’s Variety

A fragrant, semi-evergreen groundcover, Geranium macrorrhizum ‘Ingwersen’s Variety’ features aromatic, deeply lobed bright-green foliage that blushes rich bronze-red in autumn. In late spring to early summer, it produces airy clusters of soft pink flowers held on striking dark-red stems, followed by decorative crimson, berrylike seedheads. This hardy perennial (zones 4–8) forms a dense mat 30–45 cm (12–18 in) tall and wide, thriving in full sun to light shade with dry to medium, well-drained soil. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it's deer- and rabbit-resistant, drought-tolerant, and valued by pollinators for its early nectar.
