Calamagrostis acutiflora - Avalanche

A variegated form of feather reed grass, 'Avalanche' features upright clumps of narrow, arching foliage with striking creamy-white centers and green margins. In early summer, elegant pink‑tinged flower plumes rise above, fading to golden‑tan seed heads that persist into winter. This compact yet architectural grass thrives in full sun to part shade, tolerates average to moist or clay soils, and remains stable under drought or heat stress. With multi‑season texture, vertical structure, and easy care, it's ideal for borders, screens, containers, and mixed plantings.
