Miscanthus sinensis – Huron Sunrise

This standout Miscanthus cultivar forms a statuesque, upright clump of arching mid-green blades subtly accented with pale silver midribs for cool structural contrast. In late summer, exceptionally abundant deep burgundy flower plumes explode above near‑5 ft foliage, evolving into creamy-white, fluffy seed heads that persist deep into winter. As the season transitions, foliage transforms into glowing almond and golden hues, creating dramatic autumn and winter interest. Hardy down to USDA Zone 4, this cultivar was bred in Ontario and is valued for its compact yet bold habit, best used as a specimen, in screen plantings, or in large containers.
