Deschampsia cespitosa - Northern Lights

A compact, variegated tufted hair grass with slender mounds of green leaves edged in creamy-white, emerging with a dazzling rosy‑pink blush in spring and again as temperatures cool. In mid-summer, airy neutral-toned flower panicles rise just above the foliage, adding delicate texture while remaining low and unobtrusive. Semi-evergreen and cool-season tolerant, it thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil. With its charming color shifts and petite habit, it's perfect for small gardens, containers, borders, or rock gardens.
