Schizachyrium scoparium - Chameleon

A stunning variegated Little Bluestem, ‘Chameleon’ features spring foliage streaked bright white and green, evolving to vibrant pink and purple hues by late summer before displaying burgundy-red flower stalks and silvery seed heads. This compact grass forms a tidy upright mound (~18–24″ tall and wide), making it perfect for containers, borders, or low-maintenance prairie plantings. Native, drought-tolerant once established, and deer-resistant, it thrives in full sun on well-drained soils, with added value for erosion control and wildlife habitat. A true “color changer,” it maintains beauty across seasons with minimal care
