Helleborus - Double Ellen Red

A bold and beautiful Lenten rose with glossy evergreen foliage and large, frilly double flowers in a rich, deep red to burgundy hue. Blooming from late winter through early spring, its richly textured petals are speckled or marbled, making it a standout in shaded borders and containers. This compact clump-forming perennial, reaching about 14–15 in tall and wide, thrives in part to full shade in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil. Deer- and rabbit-resistant and lightly fragrant, it also provides excellent cut flowers and naturalizes slowly over time.
