Hemerocallis - Chicago Apache

A resilient, dormant tetraploid daylily, ‘Chicago Apache’ dazzles with 5″ fiery scarlet-red blooms showcasing crisp white midribs and a luminous gold-green throat that maintain intense color even under hot sun. Producing strong 30″ scapes above a clump of deciduous foliage, it delivers a vibrant show from midsummer into late July. This tough performer thrives in zones 2–9, tolerates drought, salt, city conditions, and even black walnut allelopathy, while attracting butterflies and hummingbirds with rabbit resistance . Ideal for borders, containers, mass plantings, or cut-flower use, it remains low-maintenance and long-lived.
