Hosta – Blue Angel

A champion among blue hostas, Hosta ‘Blue Angel’ builds a majestic mound of broad, heavily textured heart-shaped leaves in striking blue-green shades. In mid-summer, tall scapes standing 36–48″ (90–120 cm) above the foliage bear clusters of delicate pale lavender to snow-white, fragrant bell-shaped flowers that attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Exceptionally hardy in USDA zones 3–9, this robust perennial tolerates part shade to full shade—even light morning sun—with low-maintenance, slug-resistant foliage that remains vibrant in both heat and cool urban conditions. Ideal as a centerpiece or mass planting, ‘Blue Angel’ can grow to 3–4 ft (90–120 cm) tall and 4–6 ft (120–180 cm) wide over several years, earning the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit and recognition from the American Hosta Society.
