Hosta – Blue Mammoth

A true giant among blue hostas, Hosta ‘Blue Mammoth’ features thick, heavily puckered, pale powder-blue leaves that form a majestic mound reaching up to 34″ (85 cm) tall and 48″ (120 cm) wide. In mid-summer, sturdy scapes around 48″ (120 cm) rise above the foliage and produce pale lavender-to-white bell flowers that attract hummingbirds. Exceptionally hardy in zones 2–8 (or 2–9), it thrives in part to full shade with evenly moist, rich soil and offers good slug resistance thanks to its thick foliage. For best blue coloration, bright shade with morning sun is recommended—deep shade may shift leaves toward forest green.
