Hosta – Blue Mouse Ears
An award-winning miniature hosta, Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears’ forms a charming, symmetrical mound of thick, rounded blue-green leaves approximately 6″ (15 cm) tall and 12″ (30 cm) wide. In mid-summer, short scapes (8–12″ / 20–30 cm) bear clusters of lavender bell flowers that attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies. Hardy in USDA zones 3–9 and slug-resistant thanks to its thick, puckered foliage, it thrives in part to full shade and even tolerates clay soil, making it ideal for containers, edging, or rock gardens. Named 2008 Hosta of the Year, it’s a low-maintenance delight for small spaces.
